Tonight we had small group. I really love Thursdays because of small group. I really enjoy getting to know the people in our group.
Tonight Lauren brought everybody a little tin of cookies and an adorable "It's a Wonderful Life" card. Her cookies were awesome! I don't know how she had time to make so many! She made these great fluffy chocolate chip cookies, mint chocolate chip cookies (which are a cool color and taste JUST like the ice cream), and a really gourmet type of cookie including rosemary as an ingredient. I am very impressed. I am actually snacking on one as I am writing this.
I don't know Lauren very well yet, but she has already influenced my life. She has intrigued me since the first day I met her. I am not quite sure what it is about her, but something about her is just really neat in my mind. Just from knowing her the past few months I have seen how kind she is. She was so sweet to me when my cat died. She came up to me and gave me a big hug, which was EXACTLY what I needed that day. She shares my love for cats, which makes her super cool in my book.
Lauren is a great mother. She always talks about Ori and about how much she misses him when she is not with him. You can tell by the look in her eyes how much she loves her son. I think that is so inspiring.
Lauren is also incredibly beautiful! She has the prettiest face and skin and awesome style. Her style is really unique and original which I think is true fashion. She does not copy Hollywood. She wears what she likes, and looks beautiful because of that!
My favorite thing about Lauren is her un-relentless pursuit of the Lord. She is so passionate about her relationship with God. She is humble and has a beautiful desire for God. I love that. She is always asking for prayer and I think that shows how much she needs and wants God. I can't describe that anyway other than beautiful. I know God is glorified by her pursuit of Him. She also has a really insightful blog of her daily Bible readings that I love reading.
Lauren,
I think you are really awesome. Thank you so much for being so sweet to me and everyone else. You are a really nice breath of fresh air in the world. Not many people have your passion for God, others, and life. I respect you so much. You have influenced my short time in Carbondale significantly. Thank you. I look forward to getting to know you better!
Sincerely,
Mary Beth
